Last night Blaine took me to the airport to pickup Sean. Sean landed about 8:30 pm. We got back to the dorm about 9:30 pm.
This morning Blaine had the group go to breakfast early as there were hundreds of high school girls coming in to eat from various camps on campus.
The temperature was supposed to be very hot today. Seems like it was 90 today. Tomorrow, when we are on the road it is supposed to be in the high 90's.
I recalled there was a coffee house east of campus so Sean and I first walked to it. An hour later we walked to Safeway for some shopping before going back to the apartment.
Since Sean had never seen Spokane, we walked toward the Spokane River and caught up with Tom. Tom, Sean, and I waked to various spots to view the river.
Closer to town we saw there were gondola riders so Sean and I got in one and it went right over the river near some falls. We then went into town near REI and eventually back to the apartment. I invited 8 or 9 riders to our apartment for cold drinks.
We had dinner in the college dining hall and then tried to settle down in our apartments before tomorrow's ride. Sean and I shared apt. suite with Portland John, and Houston John.

Chuck,
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying your photos and narrative -- makes me wish I was on the road with you and the others.
Tell Tom that whenever I see a photo of him I drop to the floor and begin stretching. Then I feel an urge to get on my bicycle, ride west, and search for a pub and a rodeo along your route.
My early impressions from your blog were that Ken and Nancy had organized a trip for ugly people only this year. Then Sean joined you in Spokane and changed my perceptions.
I'll keep following you and commenting (if I can figure out just how to post these comments).
It is 105 degrees F in Lexington today -- would not be a good day for the Horsey.
